A note from the studio

One maker.
Many shelves.

Hey there, I’m Shail — the creator behind Tortoiz Themes. I design and develop themes, templates, and digital tools that help independent people put their best work online.

Tortoiz Themes is the studio home for that work. It is where the ideas become products: researched, designed, coded, documented, and refined until they feel simple to use and good to live with.

Over the years, the work has appeared under a few marketplace names and storefronts. The names changed with the shelf; the intent stayed the same — make beautiful, practical foundations for the web and support the people using them.

How the work gets made

Small details.
Strong foundations.

01

Make it clear

Every layout earns its place. The goal is a site people understand in seconds and enjoy using for years.

02

Make it fast

Performance is part of the design — thoughtful assets, lean code, responsive layouts, and fewer obstacles between a visitor and the content.

03

Make it yours

Good themes are starting points, not cages. The structure stays strong while your voice, work, and brand take the lead.

NOW

The current direction

A tighter catalog
for the independent web.

Today, Tortoiz Themes is narrowing its focus to Jekyll, Hugo, ReactJS, and Astro — the tools we believe are especially good at making fast, expressive websites. Older marketplace work remains part of the story, but this is the direction ahead.
